What is the Audiovisual Support Plan that aims to turn Spain into an audiovisual hub?

The plan “Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe” consists of promoting, through the Audiovisual Support Plan, all the activities and services of the sector. Whether in the area of television and cinema, the world of advertising, the video game market or animation, among others.

The idea is to achieve a public investment of 1,603 million euros for the period 2021-2025. In order to serve to increase by 30% the audiovisual production made in Spain in this period. The goal being both the digitization of audiovisual production and audience tracking.

In addition, a single point of contact information will be created, the Spain Audiovisual Hub Bureau. This will be responsible for providing information, assistance and support to potential investors, whether domestic or foreign.

Also, in order to facilitate the acquisition of human talent, migration processes for professionals in the audiovisual sector will be simplified. Deadlines and requirements will be reduced. In other words, you will be able to join this project in an easier and simpler way.

Who can benefit from this plan?

The goal is to adapt training plans to the needs of the industry and support the training that companies provide to their workers. Through the training program for employment in the digital economy to be launched by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.

In addition, participation will be facilitated to foreign profiles that adapt to the needs of the industry, such as artists, technicians and professionals of the sector in general. The important thing is that the activity of the professionals is focused within the audiovisual and artistic sector. Their direct family members will also benefit from the program.

What is the purpose of simplifying the migration process for members of the audiovisual sector?

It allows any professional in the audiovisual or artistic sector to become part of the industry in an easy and fast way. The purpose is to make the necessary regulatory changes to streamline the administrative processes for granting authorizations and visas.

The reform of the immigration rules will try to produce the necessary flexibility, depending on the different professional categories. Always taking into account the different professional profiles that may be encountered.

The simplification of the immigration process will ensure the streamlining of procedures. In addition, it will give priority to electronic procedures, eliminate all unnecessary paperwork and allow the submission of applications through a representative.

The overall plan is to design a system that responds specifically to the needs of applicants and to optimally streamline the processing of the necessary permits. The reform is also intended to strengthen the collaboration of the various ministerial departments.

It should be clarified that this reform applies both to companies wishing to hire foreign professionals, as well as to professionals who intend to undertake a project, activity or any production in Spain on a temporary or permanent basis.
