5 steps to create your brand

Markets are crowded, so you must distinguish yourself from the competition. A brand will be the set of characteristics that constitute the identity of your product or service and that will help you stand out from the rest. In the following article you will see the steps to create your brand.

First of all, find out what you are good at, discover your talent and what you are passionate about. Doing something that doesn’t fulfill you will only lead to frustration, so make sure it’s what you want to do.

After that, follow the steps:

1. Identify the product or service

Define the product or service you want to market. To ensure the success of the start-up, the offer must be innovative and respond to an existing demand.

In addition, it must meet the expectations and requirements of potential customers.

2. Find the brand

The brand is composed of 3 things: the image (which includes name and logo), positioning and identity. And it might seem easy, but it is a fundamental point for the later recognition of the company, product or service.

As for the name, ideally it should be short and direct so that the public can easily remember it.

Avoid being too generic or too specific, and make sure it does not have negative connotations in a foreign language.

Some people even like to look for its psychological meaning and etymological origin.

You can check that no brand already has this name through domain names on Google, and on social networks.

3. Develop a logo and a graphic line

The logo is the visual identity of the brand. It is, in a way, the company’s signature.

It allows the brand to be easily recognizable and distinguishable from its competitors. Therefore, it must be attractive and original.

It is advisable to use a graphic designer for this part, and not try to do it yourself on free platforms such as Canva. In this case, remember to always ask for the original logo, in black and white, transparent background and editable.
